What is your advice for LGBTQIA+ travellers?
Much Better Adventures is committed to creating safe, inclusive, and respectful travel experiences for LGBTQIA+ travellers, supported by local hosts, UK Government FCDO advice, and a focus on positive global impact.
Your Adventure, Your Way – Safe and Inclusive
At Much Better Adventures, your safety and well-being are our top priorities. We’re here to make sure you can join our group trips freely, authentically, and without worry. Here’s how we create a safe and welcoming environment for everyone:
Fostering Mutual Respect
Adventure is about bringing people together, and we wrote our Community Values with this in mind. Whether it’s fellow adventurers, our local hosts, or the communities we visit, respect is key. Our groups bring together people from all over the world – different countries, backgrounds, and life stories. That’s part of what makes a Much Better Adventure so special. That means no room for judgment, discrimination, or harassment. With us, you can be yourself – no exceptions. We ask that everyone on our trips does the same, creating a space where everyone feels welcome and valued. From the start of your journey to the final day, our aim is to ensure every adventure feels positive, inclusive, and free from negativity.
Leading the Way
Our brilliant local hosts and guides set the tone for every trip. They endeavour to make every traveller feel comfortable, and they’re your go-to people. They are here for you right from the start - from before booking your trip helping you make the right choices for you, to the end of the trip always ready to offer advice, support, and plenty of laughs along the way.
A Global Perspective
The world is wonderfully diverse, but LGBTQIA+ rights and acceptance vary across destinations. Before you set off, we encourage you to research the local laws and customs to help you prepare. As part of this, we follow the UK Government FCDO travel advice (available here), which includes information for LGBTQIA+ travellers in every country. For additional insights, Equaldex is a great resource that tracks LGBTQIA+ rights worldwide. If you’re based outside the UK, your government’s travel advisory pages will likely have similar guidance.
If you have any questions after reading this information, then please do get in touch either with our CX team or your host, and they can provide you with specific advice based on the destination that you are interesting in travelling to.
