Latest Update: 22nd December 2025

In July 2025, political unrest and localised military activity was seen on the Thailand and Cambodia border.  Tensions remain and fighting erupted again at various points along the border in early December. Land borders and crossings between Thailand and Cambodia continue to be suspended. Thailand and Cambodia have resumed formal ceasefire discussions. After a special ASEAN meeting on 22 December, both governments agreed to restart structured talks to discuss practical de-escalation measures.
