Is the recent military action between India and Pakistan affecting trips?
Updated 12 May 2025:
What's Been Happening?
There is a long-running dispute between India and Pakistan over the region of Kashmir, rooted in the partition of British India in 1947. The recent escalation between India and Pakistan in May 2025 was triggered by a terrorist attack on Indian-administered Kashmir, which India attributed to a Pakistan-based militant group. Subsequent retaliations and military action followed on both sides. Aviation within the airspace north of Delhi was temporarily suspended as a precautionary measure.
On 10th May 2025, a ceasefire was announced whereby India and Pakistan agreed to stop military action.
On 12th May 2025, airspace north and northwest of Delhi re-opened.
Your Safety is Our Top Priority:
We’ve been keeping a very close eye on the situation and are in ongoing contact with our network of local Host partners in India, who are providing us with regular local updates about the regions in which they operate MBA trips.
We also follow the UK Government’s travel advice (gov.uk/foreign-travel-advice/india) and do not operate any trips to areas the FCDO advises against travel to.
On top of that, we’ve consulted with our external safety and risk management partners, who support the continuation of our India trips at this time (as of 12 May 2025), with a few sensible precautions (more on that below).
We understand if recent news has caused concern. Please know we’re taking all the right steps to make sure your trip is safe, well-prepared, and just as adventurous as ever.
We’ll continue to keep a close eye on official advice, stay in touch with our safety consultants, and check in regularly with our network of Hosts in India to make sure everything stays on track.

A Quick Word on Tech, Drones & Filming:
Some of you may be keen photographers and gadget fans—but please take note of India’s strict rules around certain devices, especially during times of heightened sensitivity:
- Satellite phones, GPS enabled devices (including Garmin watches), and emergency beacons are not allowed without special permission. Using or even carrying these could lead to fines, confiscation, or delays.
- Drones also require official permits, even for casual use in remote areas.
- Activities like filming, birdwatching, or using binoculars can raise concerns near military or government sites and transport hubs (bus/railway stations, airports, etc.)—so please be extra mindful and always follow your guide’s advice or advice of any local officials.
A Few Tips to Keep Things Running Smoothly:
To help you stay informed and make your travel as smooth as possible:
- Keep an eye on FCDO travel updates (or your own government’s advice if you're not based in the UK).
- Whilst on their trip, speak to your Guide and follow advice specific to the area you are travelling in.
- Steer clear of protests, public gatherings, and military or religious sites—especially while in cities.
- Avoid displaying any political or overtly religious symbols and conversations about politics, or the security situation, in public settings.
- Keep cameras and optics tucked away near sensitive locations.
- Double-check that your travel insurance covers political/security disruptions and emergency evacuation (this is required for all MBA trips).
